Sisters, Oregon | Wednesday, June 3rd | 12pm–2pm | $85

Join Lauren McLeod from The Write Type and Ali Caron from Mind for Story for an intimate afternoon of wine, small bites, and a working session on how to use the Enneagram to build characters your readers won't forget.

Spots are limited to 15 people.

What to Expect

Character Architecture

We'll move through all nine Enneagram types as character architecture. What does a Four actually want from the people they love? How does a Six respond when the plan falls apart? How does a Three hide when they're not winning? By the end, you'll have an idea of how to create the emotional scaffolding for every character in your cast.

Applied Scenarios

We'll walk through a few key story moments and settings, such as a first date, a moment of betrayal, or a crossroads decision, and explore how each type would realistically show up in each of these scenes and situations.

How Type Drives Plot

A character's Enneagram type delivers an easy framework for a character's core fears, motivations, and misbeliefs. We'll talk about how to use type to fuel conflict, shape arc, and create emotional tethers that create those visceral feelings of connection for your readers.

Wine, Bites & Good Company

Hosted in an intimate space in Sisters with a glass of wine, beer, or handcrafted NA sparkling tea and small bites. The exact location will be shared with you upon registration.

What You’ll Leave With

✦ A working understanding of all nine Enneagram types as character archetypes you can apply across any genre or story

✦ A practical framework for how each type shows up in high-stakes story moments

✦ A character brainstorming worksheet to type your full cast and start mapping their motivations immediately

✦ A resource guide for typing your characters at home, so the work continues long after the afternoon ends

Who This is For

Whether you're drafting your first chapter or revising your third manuscript, this afternoon gives you a framework you can use every time you sit down to write.

You'll find this especially valuable if you've ever written a character who felt flat, struggled to make your antagonist feel believable, or wondered why your protagonist wasn't resonating the way you hoped.

✦ Fiction writers working in any genre

✦ Writers curious about the Enneagram and where to start

✦ Writers already fluent in the Enneagram who want to apply it more intentionally to their craft

✦ Anyone within the Sisters writing community looking for a focused, inspiring afternoon
